Partnerships

What it looks like to partner with
Living & Learning International

As a faith-based study abroad provider, we are focused on delivering quality programs to our partner universities that bolster their experiential programs. We know there are a lot of logistics when preparing students for studying abroad, and as a partner university, you have direct access to our US Team through the process. We’re here to build and foster relationships with staff, students, and faculty. We do this through regular campus visits, open communication, and well-defined processes.

Partnering with Living and Learning can either be at the Institutional Level or the Student Level. We’ll describe what we mean by that below.

Examples of Partnerships

Each college or university has a unique vision for study abroad. We can adapt our partnership structure to align with your needs. Below are a few general “buckets” that partnerships tend to fall into. This is not meant to be a strict set of rules but rather to serve as a guide in evaluating partnership options.

Institution-Level Partnership

The university partners with Living and Learning as an extension of its mission to deliver Christ-centered higher education. Some or all of the following elements characterize an institution-level partnership:

  • Our course offerings are added to the institution’s course catalog and transcripted directly.

  • Financial aid is allocated to Living and Learning programs.

  • Living and Learning University Relations team works at the department level with faculty to embed study abroad in degree plans, bringing an international component to your institution’s programs.

  • Regular campus visits and connection with Living and Learning US Team.

  • Because of mission alignment, the institution will explore creative branding options to embed L&LI programs for marketing and student recruitment.

  • As a direct extension of the college or university, Living and Learning programs are presented to students in a specialty or signature tier of study abroad options. They are not simply one other location on the general list of study abroad locations.

  • Living and Learning provides dedicated team members to consult on short-term, custom, faculty-led programs. These are part of our Experiential Tours division.

Universities at this partnership level sign an agreement that covers the above points and is written to align with the institution’s goals and current policies related to financial aid, transfer credit, etc.

Student-Level Partnership

This level emphasizes making Living & Learning programs available to your students.

  • Living and Learning courses are pre-approved for transfer credit back to your college or university.

  • Transcripts come from the Living and Learning School of Record.

  • Students are generally able to apply external forms of financial aid to L&LI programs but this depends on the university’s scholarship and financial aid policy.

  • Annual campus visits and connection with the Living and Learning US Team.

  • Short-term, custom, faculty-led programs are available.

Colleges and universities at this level sign a simple, general Memorandum of Understanding.

Other

On occasion, students discover Living and Learning and desire to enroll in our programs directly. They can take a leave of absence to attend one of our semester programs. Credit can transfer back to the university and they will be able to re-enroll at their home university. Our enrollment team works with students to consider 1) how financial aid may or may not apply, and 2) how credit may transfer back to their home institution.

Don’t see your college or university? That’s ok! Students from non-partner institutions can still participate and we’re always adding new schools to our network.
