TESOL Virtual Internships

Overview

Through the TESOL Virtual Internship program, students will earn 3 college credits and gain experience teaching English at a virtual internship and attending Community Development lectures. Programs are offered fall and spring semesters and during the summer. The semester program is designed to be completed while enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at your college or university.

Internships will have a strong emphasis on teaching in a virtual, synchronous classroom setting. A dedicated mentor from Living & Learning will facilitate the experience and serve as a bridge between the student and the international school. The Community Development lectures will provide an evidence-based framework for approaching a cross-cultural workplace. With a flexible format and hands-on, live teaching, students will be able to complete an international TESOL internship from anywhere.

Mentor

The TESOL internship program will be facilitated by Living and Learning. Each student will have a dedicated mentor who will guide them through the internship. The mentor will provide support professionally and personally. Specifically, they will provide technical support, internship guidance, spiritual development, and cultural translation.

Academics

As part of the internship, students will engage in a weekly seminar focused on Community Development principles. Additionally, interns will have access to short, actionable, professional development videos which will lead to career readiness as defined by the NACE competencies.
